Barstool Racing- Two Old Guys (plus Spider) Complain About Jersey Shore Traffic with Martin Truex Jr.
NASCAR keeps sending us superstars, so Spider and I keep chatting them up.
This week we sat down with New Jersey native Martin Truex Jr. fresh on the heels of his win at last Sunday's Instacart 500 at Phoenix Raceway.
Martin was the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion and a two-time Xfinity Series champion, having won consecutively waaaaaaay back in 2004 and 2005... Which means 40-year-old Truex is refreshingly the first driver I have talked to who isn't part of NASCAR's fresh-faced gang of baby drivers.
(shoutout "Baby Driver")
Last weekend's win was the 28th Cup Series win of his career so he is now tied with Carl Edwards for (by coincidence) 28th on the all-time NASCAR Cup Series wins list.
Truex stays busy and he is hoping to build on the momentum from last week's win, so if you head on over to the Barstool Sportsbook, Martin is the favorite at +190 in a field of 24 drivers for tonight's Xfinity Series race in Atlanta, The EchoPark 250… He's -200 for a Top 3 finish.
And you can see Martin race in Cup action tomorrow, Sunday, Mar 21st, where he is +650 to win and +190 for a Top 3… As always, he'll be driving the No. 19 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing at the Folds of Honor Quik Trip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway…Coverage starts at 3 PM, only on FOX.
Take a lap.
